Tiong Bahru Bakery Opens First Philippine Outlet in Bonifacio Global City

Filipino food lovers have a new dining destination as Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) brings the renowned Tiong Bahru Bakery to the Philippines. The bakery, known for its world-class croissants and artisanal pastries, opened its first branch outside Singapore at Verve Residences Tower 2 in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig.

A New Chapter for Tiong Bahru Bakery

JFC Global President and CEO Ernesto Tanmantiong expressed pride in introducing the Tiong Bahru brand to the Philippine market. “This marks the first international branch of Tiong Bahru Bakery, and we are proud to open it here in the Philippines,” he said.

Tiong Bahru Bakery, originally from Singapore, is celebrated for its signature croissants, crafted with precision using the finest French ingredients. “Our croissants take three days to perfect,” said Tiong Bahru General Manager Matt McLauchlan, describing the meticulous process of fermentation, layering, proofing, and baking that results in their signature flaky texture.

A Joint Venture for Filipino Food Enthusiasts

In 2023, JFC and Food Collective Pte. Ltd. (FCPL) formed a joint venture to bring Tiong Bahru Bakery and Common Man Coffee Roasters to the Philippines. JFC holds a 60% stake in the partnership, with FCPL owning the remaining 40%. Both parties have committed to investing up to ₱250 million to ensure the venture’s success.

JFC Philippines CEO Joseph Tanbuntiong said the new BGC location aims to become a favorite spot for locals. “We want this to be the go-to place where people can indulge in freshly baked products while soaking in the store’s inviting ambiance,” he shared.

A Commitment to Quality

Tiong Bahru Bakery is set to elevate the local café scene with its menu of handcrafted pastries, made with care and high-quality ingredients. “Great food is worth the time and effort,” McLauchlan added.

The outlet in BGC is strategically positioned to cater to urban professionals, food enthusiasts, and families looking for a unique dining experience in one of Metro Manila’s most vibrant districts.

Looking Ahead

With the launch of Tiong Bahru Bakery in the Philippines, JFC continues to expand its portfolio of global dining brands, providing Filipinos with access to exceptional culinary experiences.

JFC shares remained steady at ₱251.40 on Wednesday, reflecting investor confidence in the company’s ambitious expansion strategies.
